Langtang Trekking Region

Langtang and Helambu is most popular trekking route in Nepal and it is located central on Nepal north of Kathmandu offers a multitude of trekking destinations, all accessible without flights. The three major areas are Langtang, Gosainkund and Helambu, which can be combined in many different ways to make treks from seven to 16 days long.


Langtang is a narrow valley that lies just south of the Tibetan border. It is sandwiched between the main Himalayan range to the north and a slightly lower range of snowy peaks to the south. Langtang Lirung (7246m) dominates the valley to the north, Gang Chhenpo (6388m) and Naya Kangri (5846m) lie to the south; and Dorje Lakpa (6966m) protect the east end of the valley. The area was designated Nepal's first Himalayan national park in1971.

Langtang Ganjala Pass Trekking

Langtang Ganjala Pass Trekking - This trek starts from Sybru Bensi, ends at Melamchi Pul Bazar. From Sybru Bensi, you will follow the Langtang River to the east until you get to Kyanching Gompa (3,049.). In Kyanjing Gompa there is a small Buddhist monastery and a cheese factory started in 1955 by the Swiss Association for Technical Assistance. When you are crossing the pass there are spectacular views of Langtang Lirung and the Tibetan peaks beyond.
